Hi, I'm Sam.

I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Edilytics, where I get to do what I love most — build tools at the intersection of computer science and biology. I lead development on CRISPResso, a production genome-editing analysis platform, and architect the cloud infrastructure and data pipelines that power it.

I earned my B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Molecular Biology from Brigham Young University (2022), and my M.S. in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University (2025). That combination drives everything I do — finding ways to turn complex biological data into something researchers can actually use. I'm committed to building tools that push the field of biology forward, even when the problems are measured in base pairs.

On the side, I design and build websites for small businesses. I love helping people establish a strong online presence without the agency price tag — just clean, fast, thoughtfully built sites.
